These are consultation documents (full list and links below) relating to the 2016 round of highway renewal in Sheffield. Each consists of a map of the street, showing precise locations of trees to be removed, plus a list giving descriptions of the trees, reasons for removal and the replacement species proposed. They were provided, in the form of internet addresses, in paper letters sent to residents in December 2015.
Originally these were only visible, online, to residents of the streets in which the work would take place, together with a questionnaire to inform the work of the ‘Independent Tree Panel’. They were removed from the website in January aftre the consultation deadline but provided to Chris Rust following a ‘Freedom of Information’ request in February 2016.
As this was the first year that such a consultation took place, similar documents may not be available for earlier years of the ‘Tree Replacement’ programme although lists of ‘Tree Replacements’ were provided on the ‘Streets Ahead Sheffield’ website for at least some of the trees in previous years and copies of these are being sought.
The documents, in pdf format, have been added to the archive.org website where they may be found by searching “Trees Consultation Streets Ahead Sheffield”. The links below will open the documents on the archive.org website. archive.org is a not-for-profit project to provide a free archive of documents, media and web pages for the benefit or future researchers.
